Courts Launch Speakers Bureau to Support Civics Education

The North Carolina Judicial Branch is launching a new Speakers Bureau , a free public service to raise awareness and understanding provided by the judicial and legal community of North Carolina. Led by Supreme Court Justices Paul Newby and Sam Ervin IV, the Speakers Bureau is a united effort to support civics education by engaging stakeholders throughout the bench and bar to inform the public about the rule of law, the judicial system, and what it means for our society.

Chief Justice Mark Martin and Governor McCrory Launch Statewide Celebration of North Carolina Courts

Governor Pat McCrory has proclaimed the 50th anniversary of North Carolina's unified court system and district courts. The proclamation follows Chief Justice Mark Martin’s statewide announcement earlier this year that launched a statewide celebration of milestone anniversaries for the North Carolina Judicial Branch.

A Special Message from Chief Justice Mark Martin, Supreme Court of North Carolina. Between 2016 and 2019, North Carolina will celebrate the 50th anniversaries of the unified court system, the District Court, the Court of Appeals, and the Administrative Office of the Courts; the 200th anniversary of the Supreme Court; and the 240th anniversary of the Superior Court.
