Law and Justice Exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of History

The Supreme Court of North Carolina is celebrating its 200th anniversary throughout 2019. Created by an act of the North Carolina General Assembly in 1818, the Supreme Court held its first session in January 1819 and has remained the state’s highest appellate court for 200 years.

Documentary

Join us in celebrating the bicentennial of the Supreme Court of North Carolina by experiencing an entertaining and informative documentary produced by documentarian Tom Earnhardt.

Earnhardt is an attorney, producer, writer, and host of the Emmy Award nominated television series Exploring North Carolina. Over the past three years, Earnhardt has devoted himself to the filming, writing, production, and editing of a documentary covering the history of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. The documentary, North Carolina Supreme Court at 200, premiered at the North Carolina Museum of History on November 14 and was broadcast on UNC-TV throughout 2019 and 2020.
