The North Carolina district courts are celebrating 50 years of achievements by bringing together the legal and judicial communities of Halifax, Northampton, Hertford, and Bertie counties. The community will honor this landmark anniversary with a special program sponsored by the Sixth Judicial District Bar Association.

In 1966, the North Carolina Judicial Branch came together as a unified system to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the North Carolina court system and establish the district courts. This event is a celebration of, and reflection on, the achievements of the Judicial Branch and district courts over the past 50 years. Members of the media are welcome to attend.

Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m.

Northampton County Courthouse, 102 West Jefferson Street, Jackson, NC 27845
