A North Carolina Supreme Court justice visited a North Buncombe high school Wednesday. It was the final stop on Justice Paul Newby's tour of several local schools.

Newby spoke with students about the fundamental principles of law and the role of the judicial system. He said it's important to talk to the next generation of jurors and potential lawyers.

"It's an opportunity to talk to them, hopefully, get them to think a little bit about, wow, why is America's judicial system the way it is and is it good or bad? Do we have trust in our judicial system, that it's going to deliver justice for everybody," Newby said.

The state Supreme Court assembled in Hendersonville and Asheville last week.
